L&M has developed a customer portal for the central monitoring and control of waste treatment facilities
LM smart: a digital platform for connected plant control – Ludden & Mennekes Entsorgungs-Systeme GmbH is currently working on a digital expansion of its product portfolio: LM Smart. The customer portal is still in the development phase and is intended to provide operators with a centralised overview of their entire fleet of facilities in the future.
LM Smart provides operators with various information presented in a clear dashboard layout. In addition to the standard L&M designation, each system can also be given a customised customer-specific name or a customer-specific machine number.
Numerous functions can be accessed or configured via the relevant system dashboard. This includes, amongst other things, the option to flexibly configure the end position of the ram (front or rear), as well as monitoring fill levels at 75 and 100 per cent. On request, these fill-level notifications can also be sent automatically via email or text message.
In ECO mode, the system automatically adjusts the number of strokes from one to three depending on the load, thereby saving energy and avoiding unnecessary empty cycles.
The dashboard also displays the current location of the systems, including their addresses. At the same time, status information is shown in real time and malfunctions are immediately visualised, such as when an emergency stop button is activated.
An integrated ticketing system allows users to contact Ludden & Mennekes’ support team and request assistance directly via the portal. This enables malfunctions to be assessed more quickly and support requests to be dealt with efficiently, without the need for a service technician to visit the site in every instance. The entire support process is thus significantly simplified and accelerated.
In addition, existing IoT infrastructure can be integrated into the system, and older machines can also be integrated using optional retrofit solutions. LM Smart also meets the stringent cybersecurity requirements, particularly in the area of critical infrastructure.
The fleet management system for monitoring available and unused compactors is currently still in the planning stage and will provide a useful addition to the system in the future.
With LM Smart, Ludden & Mennekes forms the base for the transparent, efficient and networked control of modern facilities.
